2010 - 2011 exhibitions
Visual Rhythms was the debut effort to come from Abx: a 2 day, dual-venue exhibition hosted by the Couchfire Collective, that took place Memorial Day weekend, May 28-29, 2010, in the South Campus Gateway at the Ohio Art League and the OSU Arts Initiative. 'Visual Rhythms' featured all new work by: Jay Moffett, Amandda Tirey Graham, Brian Reaume (BJR), Megan Burkholder, Bethany Jozwiak-Butler, Nikos Rutkowski, Ryan Orewiler, Jurate Phillips, Michael Bush, Peggy Mintun, Cyrus Fire, Douglas Fordyce, Ashley Voss and organizer Juan Carrera.'Visual Rhythms' was curated by Stephanie Rond. The show posters, postcards and Abx logo were designed by Ryan Mowry. The website was designed by Abx artist Ryan Orewiler. Special guest, Dj Moxy, did a set for the opening reception on Friday evening, May 28, 2010, from 6-9pm.
MadLabx marked the 2nd show for Abx and featured work by: Jay Moffett, Amandda Tirey Graham, Bethany Jozwiak-Butler, Ryan Orewiler, Jurate Phillips, Peggy Mintun, Randall Ater, Brittany Stigler, Chelstin Ross, Heather Wirth, Molly McNitt, Jill Bremiller, Sherry Simone, Todd Hickerson and Juan Carrera. 'MadLabx' was curated by Juan Carrera. The show poster was designed by Ryan Orewiler.
Abx's 3rd show, 'Abx at OSU Hillel' was held Jan.28-Feb.28, 2011 and featured work by: Peggy Mintun, Bethany Jozwiak-Butler, Jurate Phillps, Heather Wirth, Randall Ater, Molly McNitt, Sherry Simone, Brad Moyer, Chelstin Ross, Brittany Stigler and Juan Carrera.'Abx at OSU Hillel' was curated by Amy Neiwirth. The show poster was designed by Amy Neiwirth.
The Abx 1 Year Anniversary Show at gallery831 was the 4th installment from the group. The 1 year anniversary show featured work by: Jay Moffett, Jurate Phillips, Peggy Mintun, Bethany Jozwiak-Butler, Molly McNitt, Chelstin Ross, David M. Morgan, Sherry Simone, Brad Moyer, Todd Hickerson, Brittany Stigler and Juan Carrera. 'Abx 1 Year Annivesary show was curated by Juan Carrera. The show poster was designed by Ryan Mowry. Music and visuals for the reception were performed by 'A House Ghost Liberation' which featured music by John Hastings of RUMTUM and a projection installation by Adam Henderson in the loft space above the gallery. Jon Stommel added to festivities upstairs with some "live" painting as well.
The 5th show, Abx @ CS Gallery, exhibited at Cobenick Studios Gallery in Olde Towne East July 15-26, 2011. The opening reception featured music by Doctor Umbrella and The Dead Peasants and was held July 16 from 8 til midnight. Artists featured in this show were: Peggy Mintun, David M Morgan, Ryan Orewiler, Jurate Phillips, Bethany Jozwiak-Butler, Chelstin Ross, Arlo Moon, L'Andrae' Bradley, Heather Wirth, Simon LaBozetta, Brittany Stigler and Juan Carrera.
